Sioux Falls & South Dakota Telehealth Therapy for Adults Stuck in Repeating Patterns

You understand your patterns. You can name them, explain them, even predict them. But understanding hasn't been enough to change them.

Maybe this sounds familiar

You know what you want to do differently, but in the moment you find yourself saying yes again, explaining yourself again, or stepping in to fix something that isn't yours to fix.

You may have grown up being the responsible one, the peacekeeper, or the person who could sense what everyone else needed. Those patterns likely developed for good reasons. They may have kept things calmer, kept you connected, or helped you feel prepared.

Even when a pattern no longer fits your life, changing it can bring up guilt, fear, loyalty, grief, or worry about disappointing someone you care about.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing what you want to do differently. It's staying with what comes up when you actually do it.

How therapy can help

I work with adults from complicated families who are ready to do something different with what they already know. You don't have to start over or prove you've done the work. We can begin with what you understand and get curious about what still feels hard to change.

In therapy, we slow down the moments that pull you back into familiar patterns. Together, we can work with the feelings that make change difficult and practice setting boundaries, trusting your choices, and responding in ways that feel more like you.

The goal isn't to become less caring or less connected to the people you love. It's to have more choice in how you show up.

You may be looking for support with

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt

  • Trauma and childhood experiences that still show up today

  • People-pleasing, boundaries, and over-responsibility

  • Family conflict, guilt, and obligation

  • Relationship patterns that keep repeating

  • Stress and burnout from being the one who holds everything together

  • Life transitions, separation, and divorce
